If Layla’s flashback feels familiar to some of my readers, that’s because of the deleted boardwalk scene from chapter 4. That scene got cut because I felt it was clunky info-dumping and disliked it, but flashbacks from that scene will get reintroduced in a more natural way, like here. 🙂
